Reconnect Instagram

What to do when the dashboard says your Instagram connection has expired, and how to remove SyncRelay's access.

SyncRelay keeps your Instagram connection fresh automatically: every day it renews the access Instagram gave us, well before it runs out. Sometimes Instagram ends that access anyway, and you need to connect again.

Why the connection stops

  • You changed your Instagram password.
  • You removed SyncRelay in Instagram's settings.
  • You switched back to a personal account. SyncRelay needs a Professional account.
  • Instagram asked you to log in again for security reasons.

What you'll see

A red banner at the top of the dashboard: Your Instagram connection has expired. While it's expired, automations can't send DMs and you can't reply in the inbox.

Reconnect

  1. Click Reconnect Instagram in the banner (or Reconnect Account on the Connected Accounts page).
  2. Log in to the same Instagram account and allow the permissions.

That's it. Your automations, settings and history are kept, and new comments are handled again straight away. Comments that arrived while you were disconnected aren't replayed; you can send those by hand from Comment Tracking while they're less than 24 hours old.

Remove SyncRelay's access

In the Instagram app, go to Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites and remove SyncRelay. Your automations stop working immediately.

To delete your SyncRelay account and data, write to us at connect@syncrelay.co from the email address on your account.
